The whole world is chasing happiness. Gurus are selling all kinds of programs, that promise a person a happy life. But in reality, this is unattainable. Happiness is simply a transient emotion. It’s temporary. It’s not bad to try to be happy, but making it a life goal will mislead us. What we want to pursue instead are states of being that are more permanent. Peace of heart and joy. The way to achieve these is totally different from achieving happiness which is worldly goals oriented. Joy and peace are associated with a person's inner states.
